When I started out on this journey, I was scared and alone. I looked for support in South Africa, and found support for ladies that have been sexually abused and found a couple of freaks, but honestly there was no support for men that have been sexually violated.
Truth is, the feeling I got was, this does not happen to men in South Africa
So once I had been on my healing Journey for a while I did what most addicts do and started my own support group. Normally I would have started a group and done things in a rush, and then....it would all crash.
Well, this group is starting to take serious shape now, we are aligning ourselves with other established groups and organisations, and we are becoming a force to be reckoned with.
My desire is that no man has to struggle to find help in South Africa, and considering the fact that 1 in 6 men will have experienced sexual abuse of some sort before the age of 16, there are a hell of a lot of men that need help out there.
I gotta tell you that this is a rather difficult thing to do, and pretty much my family does not like what I am doing, But hey, life is tough and you gotta do what ya gotta do
Join Us in our journey to help men , and to create awareness around the topic of sexual abuse of men and boys.
